Susan Ryder

A graduate of Durham University, Susan has a wealth of experience recruiting at board and senior levels, including over six years with Whitehead Mann, initially in London before moving North to help establish a new office in Leeds. Her early career was with PWC and a specialist City search firm. More recently, she has enjoyed a successful career working independently and with Warren Partners before joining in 2007.

Her particular interest is in developing Orcid’s Yorkshire-based clients and, more generally, working with values-driven and/or family owned businesses on appointments that will enable a step-change in performance or culture. She enjoys working broadly across the full range of commercially oriented board roles, and also includes HR and Customer Service as her functional focus.

Outside of work her time is mainly spent running around after family. She enjoys travel, can play a mean game of tennis and has been known to pound the streets every now and again when guilt prevails - but only when the sun is shining! She would like to be a better cook and to run a marathon - look out for those flying pigs!!
